DevelopHer - Getting more women into tech

MYOB

MYOB's DevelopHer Scholarship launches in New Zealand - increasing more women in tech!

MYOB’s commitment in making the technological future more equitable starts with increasing more women and those who identify as female launch their careers into software development.

We do this by offering

  • a paid, online 6 month scholarship with our tertiary partner, RMIT
  • a paid salary while you learn
  • a mentor throughout your study, support from the Future Makers Academy and
  • a permanent role as a Protégé Developer in our graduate program

Technology development skills are in high demand in New Zealand but diversity is a concern in the sector. Women account for just 27 per cent of those working in digital technology roles.

MYOB Head of Employee Services Felicity Brown said MYOB are thrilled to be launching DevelopHer in New Zealand on International Women's Day, helping empower more local talent to pursue a successful career in the technology sector.

"One opportunity to do this is by providing more platforms where women can start and develop a career in technology development."

Brown said DevelopHer aimed to "break the bias" when it comes to gender diversity in technology.

Applications are OPEN to Australian and New Zealand Citizens and PR and we have scholarships available in both NZ and Australia. - Apply today before applications close on Monday 18th April 2022.

DevelopHer is open to women of all ages, backgrounds and skillsets (no code experience) across both Australia and New Zealand. For many it’s an opportunity to re-skill and change careers, though women can apply straight out of school if they wish.
