About the Opportunity

A competitive edge over other Graduates!  Are you completing a degree in Science or Engineering and would like to gain valuable hands-on practical experience in your field?

Start your career in nuclear science and technology. The ANSTO Year in Industry Internship Program is for penultimate year students. The one-year program, scheduled to commence February 2024, provides industry-based learning for students to apply theory and skills to the workplace and use this experience to enhance the value of their remaining study.

Be industry-ready! As an ANSTO Nuclear Science and Technology intern, you will have the opportunity to work with world-class, specialised scientific equipment for activities such as equipment design (set-up and operation); sampling (including food, water and environmental); chemical analysis using instrumentation; data assessment and analysis and fieldwork. The program is tangible first-hand experience in industry and your introduction to a career in nuclear science and technology, at the home of Australia’s most significant landmark and national infrastructure organisation.

Preference will be given to penultimate year students studying:

  • Mechatronic engineering
  • Chemistry
  • Earth and environmental science
  • Physics
  • Forensic science
