About Citi Group Australia

Citi, a global bank with 200 years of experience, aims to be a trusted partner for its clients. They achieve this by providing financial services responsibly, which in turn fosters growth and economic progress. Citi's core services include safeguarding assets, lending money, facilitating payments, and giving clients access to capital markets. This translates to helping individuals, businesses, and governments navigate financial challenges and opportunities.

Your role

Citi Global Markets offers a comprehensive training program to new hires. This program teaches them the ins and outs of the business, including foreign exchange (FX), fixed income, equity and commodity products, and financing solutions. The program boasts a wide range of offerings, from basic products to complex instruments, across various locations in the Asia Pacific region.

The program focuses on recruiting Summer Interns for the Markets team within the Institutional Clients Group (ICG) located in Sydney, Australia.

Citi Markets (Sales & Trading) offers a comprehensive suite of financial products and financing solutions to a wide range of clients, including corporations, governments, institutions, and retail investors. Their dominance in underwriting, sales and trading, and distribution allows them to deliver these solutions effectively.

Citi's strength lies in its deep product knowledge, local market expertise, technological capabilities, and distribution network. This combination enables them to provide clients with innovative and customized financial solutions across various sectors, currencies, and geographic regions. Citi is known for its superior structuring and problem-solving abilities, further enhanced by its extensive distribution reach and high-quality service.

    Training & development

The rotational 11-week Summer Internship Program will include intensive in-depth training; real-world experience; lunch and learns; informal and formal networking; and senior executive exposure. It will also provide an excellent opportunity for interns to develop their skills with senior management and client interaction, helping them shape their new role as an intern. In addition, the program is designed to bring together interns with diverse experiences and backgrounds, ensuring that no two interns have the same experience.

Trainees begin with a classroom orientation that provides an overview of Citi and specifically the Global Markets business. This orientation clarifies how Global Markets fits into the larger Citi organization. New hires will also have the opportunity to meet team members from different departments within Global Markets and benefit from mentorship from a senior leader and a buddy.
