5.45 AM

I wake up and have a quick breakfast with a nice coffee while I read my bible, I then read the news to keep up to date on what is going on in the world. Then I get in the car, pop on a podcast and head off to work.

7.30 AM

I like to start work early and I spend some time reading Campus Morning Mail and other relevant news involving UWA and higher education. I then dive into my emails and clear my inbox, so I am ready for the day.

8.15 AM

I chat with my colleagues who I sit with about what projects they are currently working on and get their advice for a prospect meeting I have later in the day.

9.00 AM

I prepare for the prospect meeting I have later in the day and start thinking about what UWA run events, research or programs I can tell him about that he might be interested in.

9.30 AM

It’s time for our office’s weekly power-up meeting which is where the whole office meets to hear about what each area of the office is working on and what wins the office has had in the last week and what is coming up this week.

10.00 AM

I walk over to Uniclub (a UWA café) where I am meeting my prospect who is excited to come back on campus. I meet with him and find out that he is very interested in scholarships for indigenous students and that he has set up not one but two businesses since his time at UWA!

11.00 AM

I write up a report of the meeting and start reaching out to my colleagues at the School of Indigenous Studies to see what type of scholarship my prospect would be most fond of. I send of a thank you email to my prospect and let him know I will send through some more information soon.

11.30 AM

I open our database and start pulling out data we have on our bequestors and start to work through the data in an attempt to get an idea of what the average person who leaves a bequest o UWA looks like.

1.00 PM

Time for lunch, I walk down to the river which is right next to campus to have lunch with some friends.

2.00 PM

I have my monthly meeting with the director of our department, and I get to ask her any questions I have and get her advice on the projects I am currently working on. She also tells me about some new projects that she would like me to assist with in the coming few weeks.

3.00 PM

It is now time for a meeting with our Annual Giving Manager and our IT department to discuss how we are going to move our annual fundraising calling campaign to be managed internally rather than externally. I also get to write all the training material for our callers and assist with training them.

4.00 PM

I head over to the Ocean Institute building to help set up for a career café that our Alumni Relations team is running tonight and make sure there aren’t any problems.

5.00 PM

Time to clock off and head home.
