Pros & Cons

  • I feel valued, not just another graduate. There is an open line of communication with all employees, not just low level or direct managers.
  • There is such a high level of exposure to all of the different types of clients that you work with every day - not one client is the same. It's great because you are constantly learning new skills that will benefit you as you progress through your career.
  • Findex has a really great learning and training philosophy and the work is varied and interesting.
  • The support I have received as a human. It's lovely to work somewhere that sees the staff as people and not dollar signs
  • The company is adaptable and is constantly evolving its technology, business and processes to remain competitive . It implements change whenever necessary and communicates this well. I also like the flexibility of the Findex backpack and being able to work from anywhere. This process has also been handled really well and embraced.
  • Engagement with others in the company is limited to your team.
  • The way the timesheet works at Findex can sometimes be stressful
  • First buddy has moved to a new job so hard without someone nearby to ask quick questions
  • A lot to take in at the start, but finding my way now.
  • There are some communications and systems issues but I believe the company is doing what they can to rectify this.

I feel as though the culture at Findex is very good. Everyone works well as a team, and socially with going out for lunches together, makes for a happy environment. The partners and senior staff are always willing to give their time with advice also.

My managers are always ready to help me out or teach me about something new. Internal communication is always excellent, and feedback and recognition has been excellent as well.

Office Work Environment
Very well set out - enough space with all things needed to fulfil my daily job requirements. I generally wear shirt and suit pants, but there is a dress for the day attitude that can be adhered to if preferred

Recruitment
The whole process was very well done, and I was kept in the loop by phone calls to ensure I knew the stage I was at. I had a zoom meeting first with our managing partner, then had a face-face interview again with him and an associate partner.

It's fair here. There is a direct correlation between effort and reward, expectations are clear and if you work hard, you'll be rewarded.

The support offered for post grad study is definitely what you need to be successful. Regular internal learning sessions allow us to maintain and build our skills for our day to day role too. It's the best of both worlds.

Work Hours
I currently work 1-2 times per week in our office. On one of those days, we have our team connection day meaning that all team members are back in the office together (just like we used to pre COVID-19). It's a great way to stay connected with people that you are used to being around and it's always good to get out of the house every now and again. The other time that I will go into the office is if I have face to face client appointments. Whilst this isn't every week, I still thoroughly enjoy being able to meet with clients. When I work from home, I absolutely love the flexibility. Findex has equipped me with all of the equipment I need to complete my daily tasks efficiently and it also allows for me to work around my schedule outside of work hours.
