Introduction

Hello and welcome to Leidos!

Today you will be joining one of our teams as a Mission-Critical Graduate Software Engineer.

Graduate Software Engineers at Leidos collaborate as part of a team, developing tailored mission critical applications and capabilities for Defence and various other Australian government agencies such as the Bureau of Meteorology, the Department of Home Affairs and Australian Taxation Office.

The creation of these custom tools is often time sensitive due to their strategic importance and meeting customer requirements is integral to their success.

At Leidos, our software teams employ Agile methodologies. During the course of this experience we will presume that you are working in a team employing the Scrum methodology.

During this virtual experience you will be working on a React JS user interface for the new data management platform, to be utilised by the Bureau of Meteorology. You’ll be involved in ticket creation, estimation, development, and review. Your tasks will include:

  • Collaborating with your team to expand task understanding for the next iteration of the application.
  • Updating a piece of functionality within the application which is not performing as expected.
