Purpose of the Role

The Marketing Intern provides critical support to the client servicing teams. The role requires the ability to handle a number of projects and tasks simultaneously, delivering high-quality work within tight deadlines. The Marketing Intern will develop a clear understanding of the team’s requirements and objectives, learn about the clients’ industries and businesses, be proactive in attitude, fast in responding to the online community and team requests, and be supportive of their teams.

Coupled with this, the Marketing Intern will undergo weekly training sessions covering all aspects of marketing services. This will include individual and group project tasks to apply learnings. At the end of the six-month programme, there may be the opportunity to join one of the client services teams dependent on personal goals and career aspirations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Attend the RISE Academy training workshops to develop knowledge and skills
  • Support the account servicing teams with delivering client campaigns, projects and initiatives
  • Assist with the coordination of media-related and client events
  • Understand and avidly follow the news agenda, helping to position clients within the context
  • Research and identify appropriate journalists, bloggers and analysts on an on-going basis; foster media and blogger relationships for self and on behalf of the team
  • Monitor relevant news sources and alert the team to relevant breaking news opportunities
  • Develop compelling content (biographies, briefings, media alerts, press releases, soundbites, backgrounders and boilerplates), producing copy for all channels using relevant techniques and language
  • Support proposals, new business credentials and pitches by providing research and coordination
  • Learn how to operate global standard analytics tools under the LEWIS tech stack to support new business, assist in driving strategies that feed into existing client work and campaigns.
  • Implement client campaigns across the full spectrum of social media channels including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok
  • Provide social media insight as well as execution and management of related digital activity
  • Accurately report activity levels and regularly complete timesheets to ensure correct allocation of client and team duties; produce reports for the team on request
  • Coordinate reporting to clients and in a timely manner
