Please tell us about promotion possibilities and fill us in on what it takes to move up the ranks.
Protiviti has a very clear promotional ladder. Protiviti makes it very clear what is required to reach the next level and how long you should expect to work before you receive a promotion. Upper management will always look to promote staff, however, they also ensure that it is sustainable for the employee and they are not being promoted too early when they may not be ready

While it seems like a fair system of promotion. Con -- 2+ years --> Senior Con --3+--> Manager... There is no rewarding for high-quality employees and no promotional plans put into place to fast-track stronger employees. If someone is an early promotion into Senior con they HAVE to wait 3 years before even being considered for a manager role. That means once a Senior Con has gotten their promotion they will be disillusioned into thinking they will be a manager in less than 3 years from their promo. Resulting in a drop of work ethic and drive to over-achieve.

I think some people are ready for the next level / already perform the roles and responsibilities required of the level above, but it seems as though you have to wait for a certain amount of time before you can actually move up.

Protiviti has a really clear promotion pathway including goals and capabilities to be hitting at each level. You can make your way up fairly quickly if you do good work and contribute to the firm's success.

There is a lot of misinformation out there about this process. The company appears to promote that that promotions are the outcome of hard work, possessing leadership traits, producing high quality work and tenure. However, it appears that in reality we place a much higher weighting on tenure than high performance and quality work.

You are able to go for promotion twice a year. Promotion depends on your tenure and your performance. I would say the current process is working well.

Protiviti has a very clear career progression/promotion pathway. This is well defined. There is sentiment however that talent and effort do not always result in higher remuneration or quicker promotions, and that tenure and the bare minimum is enough.

The lack of interest and investment from my advisor has adversely affected my career development. They have not only encouraged me to hold back in my career development they have actively spoken badly about me to clients Infront of an entire engagement team with the clients present. Their lack of interest and believe in me from the start coursed me to questions the value of my own contributions. Thankfully the clients had already spoken to be about the positive impact of my work quality, so I knew not to be disheartened by my advisors' comments. It's frustrating when the person I have to rely on for promotions doesn't have any interest.

Clear pathways for promotion and tenure criteria. Documentation is provided on what is expected at each level and everyone is assigned a career mentor to help you achieve your professional goals. There is also training at each level eg. the Consulting challenge An online portal is the basis for giving and receiving feedback which helps support this.

I feel like I am progressing a normally in terms of career progression, my career advisor/s have been great thus far and provided me with the tools needed to improve. My only problem is that I do not know if I am still technically a graduate.
