My role is a Consultant in the Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Solution. My responsibilities include communicating with clients, reviewing documentation and testing controls to find gaps in organisations processes, and developing recommendations to improve their processes.

As a consultant my main roles and responsibilities involve supporting the managers and MDs with the project. This involves things such as note taking during meeting, providing input in internal meetings, engaging in fieldwork and document reviews, and overall learning the processes and methodologies of the project/stakeholder. Other day-to-day responsibilities also include admin work for the project, such as scheduling meetings or requesting information from the client.

My day-to-day tasks generally include analysing client needs, offering strategic advice, overseeing projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering high-level solutions within their area of expertise.

As a graduate consultant, you get to work on a wide range of projects across industries and topics. Working with some of the biggest organisations in Australia means you get exposure to the 'behind the scenes' of some pretty cool, and often newsworthy, events and challenges the organisations face.

Meeting with clients, performing assurance activities, reporting

As a manager, I should be responsible for leading and managing teams and engagements. There is currently limited opportunity to do this. My current role involves performing fieldwork and preparing client deliverables.

Work is interesting. Despite being a manager, I am expected to be across every detail of every job because there isn't enough resourcing for me to have any cons/senior cons on the projects.

I manage the fieldwork for audits and reviews. This includes scoping, stakeholder meetings, testing, and reporting.

As mentioned earlier, I like the variety, it changes each day and there is always a chance to learn new skills and have new experiences and to mentor others. One day I could be doing data analytics work and creating client deliverables and the next I could be facilitating workshops.

As a Senior Consultant, I meet clients, hold walkthroughs, take notes and liaise with clients for documentation and other requests. I also work closely with my engagement manager and am guided by them.

I am a consultant 1, which means I have been with the company nearly 2 years. I started as a grad. My day to day responsibilities change depending on what project I am on and what hours I am rostered. At the moment, I am in the office a few days a week and the rest WFH. I spend 1-2 days on a client site and the rest in the office. Responsibilities include creating client deliverables, attending meetings and taking minutes, supporting with business development work, and project work such as testing and mapping

Starting from a grad with no relevant experience, I feel not too much pressure has been applied which is helping me thrive in this environment.

As a graduate consultant, I was required to work with my colleagues in various industries and produce various types of work such as controls testing and data analysis.

I have loved the managers and team I have worked with as they were very understanding and explained everything.
