My workplace offers a variety of opportunities including allowing us to do our RNs through our hospital as they have partnerships with some universities. You can also work your way to become a clinical nurse or specialise in a specific department like surgical or palliative.

The responsible sourcing program at Ramsay covers everything ESG-related. We focus on modern slavery within Ramsay's supply chain, reducing Ramsay's carbon footprint, etc. This involves supply chain mapping, CSR assessments for our suppliers and science-based targets to reduce emissions. Ramsay Cares and the Ramsay way, 'people caring for people', is important in every step of the business.

The nurses I've worked with have always been supportive and kind. I have felt able to ask questions when I don't know things, and if the other nurse also doesn't know, we will find out together. We work well as a team and help out equally to fill shift deficits. If there is ever an issue, the nurse unit manager/s are very approachable and eager to help/make changes.

To my knowledge the company is very open and welcoming to people from all walks of life. We have and have had multiple staff members in the LGBTQIA+ communities and have staff members of different ethnicities. I personally believe that we are all treated fairly and would not continue to work here if I thought otherwise.

The interview was comfortable - the staff were wonderful and friendly. The interview questions were as expected for a nursing interview. I had 4 new grad interviews and this was by far the most favourable and left the best impression. I particularly liked that my employment as a new grad was permanent and not a position that I would have to reapply for after my year is over.
