I have been given interesting work related to what I studied in my degree. I feel I am gaining valuable experience and knowledge every day.

As a graduate mechanical engineer, I am usually the most junior employee in a project. Having said that, my team trusts me with big tasks that give me proper exposure to the project. I work on mechanical equipment lists, material take offs, process flow diagrams, marking up piping and instrumentation diagrams, attending client meetings etc.

Design and operation of chemical processes with particular focus on process modelling using MS Excel and specialist simulation packages.

I am working on a number of projects and it's amazing how I have learnt so far in just one year's time span. this is because I have worked on a range of diverse projects

Prepare datasheets, project deliveries and calculations.

I do a variety of work, ranging from engineering jobs such as drawing markups, report writing, basic calculations, site visits and using 3D models.

Producing draft deliverables (reports, calculations etc.)

Assisting on engineering projects, given a reasonable amount of responsibility but always with a level of guidance

My day to day role involves analysing mechanical systems using simulation software to ensure their safety.

Writing technical specifications for mechanical equipment and seeing them through as a package (i.e. technical clarifications and bid evaluations), writing construction Scope of Works. Drawing / Red line mark-up of P&IDs for process discipline.

Although I am a structural engineer, I am entrusted with management work alongside my assigned structural work. This gives me a holistic understanding of business operations and a deep understanding of the entire lifespan of projects.
