About this course

This program is scheduled to commence in 2020. The Graduate Certificate in Catchment processes will provide the skills and understanding required to design and deliver catchment restoration work. You will develop an understanding of catchment chemical, micro-biological and ecological processes, their determinants and inter-relationships across a range of scales, and the ability to critically analyse and evaluate the consequences of changes in these processes. You will also gain the ability to diagnose catchment management issues, and design whole-of-catchment and whole-of-water-cycle management solutions. Learning from a range of expert lecturers and experienced industry speakers you'll have the opportunity to study on-campus (with two courses also available online) and participate in practical workshops and field trips, as well as benefit from individual academic and career mentoring meetings. Successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Catchment Processes also provides a pathway into the Master of Catchment Science, for those who don't meet the entry requirements of the Master degree. Entry into the Graduate Certificate in Catchment Processes can be based on professional work experience or academic qualifications. This degree is hosted by the International Water Centre and developed and delivered in collaboration with Griffith's Australian Rivers Institute (ARI), the School of Environment and Sciences and the School of Engineering and Built Environment, drawing on ARI's research strengths in catchment process and catchment hydrology.
