About this course

The Master of Professional Accounting/Master of Financial Planning course is designed for students who wish to obtain specialised knowledge and research skills in accounting and financial planning related areas of business. Students will learn to apply advanced conceptual and practical Accounting knowledge as well as developing knowledge in Financial Planning fields of investment, insurance, taxation, superannuation and retirement planning to undertake rewarding careers in accounting and related areas of business as well.

This course also provides a pathway for further specialised learning for associate membership to CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), and Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) programs.

After undertaking this course students can purse their careers in accounting, taxation, financial planning, investment, banking, risk management and insurance fields.

Course structure

To qualify for the award of Master of Professional Accounting/Master of Financial Planning, students must complete sixteen (16) units (200 credit points) comprising of:

16 core units (200 credit points)

Units normally carry 12.5 credit points. In each year 8 units normal constitute a full-time load of 100 credit points and 4 units normally constitute a part-time load of 50 credit points. Maximum Academic CreditThe maximum level of credit that can be granted for the Master of Professional Accounting/Master of Financial Planning is 100 credit points (normally eight units)

Credit for prior study or work
