The Bachelor of Media Arts is a ground-breaking degree introduced to meet industry demand for creative practitioners with the ability to work and innovate with a range of emerging media technologies.Operating at the intersections of creativity, media and technology, the degree is aimed at students looking to develop creative, practical and adaptable skills for this fast-evolving field. Working in a studio-based learning environment, you will gain hands-on skills, complemented by theoretical studies that encourage critical thinking, contextual awareness and creative problem-solving.You will be taught by accomplished, industry-active media artists, producers and theorists, and you will create your projects in some of the worlds best-equipped workshops, labs and studios. The degree features five disciplinary areas, from which you will choose at least two. These are animation, visual effects, sound, moving image and 3D visualisation.
Applications for undergraduate study from domestic students (Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, Australian permanent humanitarian visa holders and New Zealand citizens) are processed by the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).
Visit the Apply section of the UAC website and you can nominate up to five degrees in order of preference, with the first being your most desired degree and university.
On-time applications for admission usually close at the end of September each year for Term 1 admission. Late applications can be submitted, but a late fee will apply. For study starting in Term 1, the majority of offers are made in December and January.
