In today's world, there is a need to supply legal and related services to biomedicine and biotechnology areas. These need to be staffed and supported by intelligent and informed professionals who can cater to the needs of these expanding sectors.
The School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy are well placed to support medicine and medical technology. The School of Law and Justice can comprehensively deal with the regulatory and legal issues that emerge in this sector, and those that may be linked to intellectual property and commercialisation. There is great synergy, potential and demand for collaboration between the Biomedicine and Laws programs for the purposes of innovation and regulatory affairs.
Graduates of the combined program will have a wide variety of vocational pathways in rapidly expanding sectors. These sectors will require an in depth understanding of scientific, biotechnology and legal principles in a commercial and regulatory context.
