My brain is stimulated for every minute of the day! Another positive of my job is each client differs from one another so nothing is ever exactly the same.

What's your job about?

I work within the Agribusiness team of the Accounting & Business Advisory service line at Hood Sweeney and the work is based around providing services to a diverse range of agricultural clients.

I started work at Hood Sweeney as an undergraduate after I had finished my first year at University. So far, the majority of my work consists of processing and preparing compliance and taxation work such as tax returns, BAS’s, and other financial statements.

What's your background?

I grew up in Parilla, which is a small country town approximately 200km East of Adelaide. When I was fifteen I moved down to Adelaide where I was a boarder at Prince Alfred College from years 10-12.

After studying accounting at school in my final two years at school I decided to study a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) at the University of Adelaide. In my first year of study, I worked for an earthmoving rental company. However, I was very eager to gain employment at an accounting firm as early as possible to gain real-life experience in the accounting sector.

Coming from a rural background, when I came across a seek advertisement for the position within the agribusiness team, I thought it would be perfect for me.

What's the coolest thing about your job?

As I have only recently started with Hood Sweeney, I enjoy the constant challenges that arise whilst I am trying to learn how to use various different accounting software and prepare different work.
