My favourite part of the day would most definitely be searching for high-quality candidates and speaking to new people on a daily basis.

What's your job about?

Hudson specialises in providing talent solutions for clients. As part of this, I am tasked with the 360-degree process of recruiting top-quality candidates within the market as well as conducting business development. My Daily work consists of sourcing talent by conducting phone interviews as well as collaborating with key clients in order to set up meetings between our candidates and clients.

What's your background?

I grew up in Mortdale suburb in Sydney, I went to Hurstville Primary school and then attended high school at Marist College Kogarah. My first job was at pizza hut at 15 years old. I also worked for about 3 years at news limited as a dock supervisor. In November 2021 did an internship with the Bank of Sydney before coming to work at Hudson. I have been working with Hudson for about 6 months now and I gained the opportunity to go through an internal referral from my close friend Jayden Gouganovski who started working at Hudson a few months prior to myself

Could someone with a different background do your job?

I believe people with different backgrounds can step into a recruitment role as long as they possess the right characteristics and willingness to do so. A person should definitely be resilient as well as adaptable to overcoming the challenges associated with the role.

What's the coolest thing about your job?

My favourite part of the day would most definitely be searching for high-quality candidates and speaking to new people on a daily basis. This keeps me going in the tiring parts of the day especially when there is a potential to make a job placement. On top of that being able to work with an amazing team really makes coming to work enjoyable.

What are the limitations of your job?

Although the job isn’t physically demanding it requires a lot of mental fortitude and after a long day in the office it's not uncommon to be mentally fatigued.

What piece of advice would you give to yourself when you were a student...

To remain determined and try to gain as much exposure career-wise as possible, as some of the skills you learn out in the workforce cannot be learnt in the classroom!
