The University of Sydney Study Abroad Program provides you with the exciting opportunity to add an international perspective to your education at an Australian university with a reputation for excellence in teaching and research.
Entry Requirements

To be considered for the Study Abroad Program you need to:

  • have completed the equivalent of an Australian Bachelor degree and submit substantiating evidence (testamur);
  • provide evidence of written support with your supervisor at your home university and a supervisor at the University of Sydney who has agreed to supervise your research;
  • provide a one page research proposal;
  • have achieved a cumulative grade (across all results in your degree) of either 'Credit' or 'Good' average, or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 point scale, or an average grade of 'C' or better on the European ECTS grading scale (or equivalent)

The Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning places a high emphasis on its research activities.
Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Architecture, Design and Planning), you must have completed the equivalent of one of the following in a subject area related to your proposed research area: bachelor's degree with first class or second class honours or, master's degree by research or, master's degree by coursework with an independent research component such as a thesis, dissertation or research project with a minimum overall credit average. Applicants who do not meet these admission requirements may be issued an offer of a place to the Master of Philosophy (Architecture, Design and Planning).

Outstanding candidates who successfully complete up to one year full-time or equivalent part-time of the University of Sydney Master of Philosophy (Architecture, Design and Planning) may apply for transfer into the Doctor of Philosophy (Architecture, Design and Planning) and be granted credit for work already completed: with approval from the supervisor and school meeting all higher degree by research progression requirements providing evidence that their research is of a sufficient scope and depth to sustain a doctoral thesis.

Bachelor (Honours)

In response to COVID-19, the University of Sydney has reviewed the availability of courses to be delivered remotely for students commencing their studies in 2021 and 2022.
Entry Requirements

To qualify for admission to honours students need to have completed a major in the intended subject area with an average of 70% or above. Some departments and programs have additional criteria, including advanced senior units of study designed to prepare students for the challenges of fourth year study.

NOTE: This degree requires completion of a major cognate to the Honours area you want to apply for. If you are on track to complete a double major and have not yet completed your penultimate semester of study, you have the option to undertake an embedded Honours component through a combined Bachelor of Advanced Studies degree after transferring to the degree.

A non-degree course allows you to undertake undergraduate level study, for the purpose of continuing professional development or simply for interest.
Entry Requirements

Music Units of Study are available only to Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents and citizens of New Zealand. Participants are expected to complete the assessment work and if successfully completed, will be eligible to receive credit towards a future degree. Applicants may be required to attend an audition.
