My role at the moment involves reviewing technical documents for large projects in the oil and gas industry. This sometimes involves reviewing the design and performing stress calculations.

As a graduate I get 2 6-month rotations and one 1-year rotation. My current role involves alot of analytic work, and sitting in meetings.

I'm working as an estimator which involves pricing up tenders. A lot of communication with commercial and operations to get numbers. A significant degree of documentation reading.

Attend and take notes while in meetings and keep up to date with announcements. Partake in training. Contact and log subbies and suppliers for quotes. Record quantity takeoffs. Communicate recent developments with commercial team and exchange notes. Set personal development objectives and aim to achieve them. Assist in editing excel spreadsheets by updating formulas and formatting. Read through specification documents and drawings to estimate quantities on programmes.

Asset Management and facilities management. Keeping up with asset registers and contacting sub-contractors in a government facility.

As a graduate development engineer, I am currently working in the planning and development team on the following design/maintenance disciplines like; Bridges (structures), slopes (geotech), pavements and culverts (hydraulic). My everyday responsibilities include working with the relevant development engineer to deliver the different programs on time and budget and as these skills are developed work on these packages on their own and manage consultant and designer expectations .

My role is as a Site Engineer. I look into Internet connection while managing subcontractors and looking into project management at the same time.

Job responsibilities varies day to day. As a Graduate Engineer who is focusing on project engineering and management, everyday is different. It can go from technical and practical work such as site inspection, client meeting , technical engineering and AutoCAD review. Alternatively, it can be non-technical such as attending meetings, writing reports and review documents for projects.

Performing analysis on pipeline designs and checking if the hit the correct safety factors and manufacturing specifications

Supporting Day to Day project delivery and escalating critical and non- critical events occur Completing project administrative duties and project reporting, monthly reconciliation Client and stakeholder reporting Delivering work in line with project scope expectations and contractor performance

My day-to-day responsibilities include compiling our daily media reports, understanding and analysing our social media and communication statistics, and working on projects as they are assigned

Studying tender documents and liaising with different bid managers on the work plan and supporting the team in gathering information to meet tender requirements including sustainability and design documents by client.
