Strategy Analyst

This afternoon, I have an awesome opportunity to join some of my team members in visiting one of our project sites and meeting some of the great people in the field.

7.30 AM

The alarm goes off, after a snooze or two we’re up and ready to face the day.

8.15 AM

After a quick breakfast, head out the door towards the North Sydney office.

9.00 AM

I arrive at work, at the start of the day I’ll usually try to make sure I’m all caught up on emails and my personal to-do lists are updated to get a good idea of what I want to achieve for the rest of the day.

10.00 AM

I have a catch-up with my team leader, to generally discuss how various projects are traveling that the wider team is working on, and figure out any immediate actions or tasks for myself.

11.00 AM

I now have a bit of time to work independently on whatever tasks are the most pressing on my to-do list. Today, I used this time to have a look over some updated organisational data and analytics, and did some external research for a market summary slide pack I’m putting together for the team. I was also able to catch up with some colleagues around the office that I’m collaborating with for various projects.

12.00 PM

I now head to a scheduled workshop with some key individuals involved in one of our new, exciting markets to discuss some of the major objectives that lie ahead for the rest of the year and some of the great things the business has been able to achieve thus far in this emerging sector. This workshop will be a great help as I start to put together a succinct and cohesive strategy document to encapsulate some of these upcoming plans.

1.30 PM

I duck out to the local food court to grab a quick bite!

2.00 PM

I now head to a session being held by the business development team in our Defence sector to learn a bit about some of the work they’ve been doing in recent months. It’s always great to hear what other areas of the business are up to and how my team might be able to assist in addressing some of the challenges faced across the wider organisation.

3.00 PM

This afternoon I have an awesome opportunity to join some of my team members in going to visit one of our project sites and meeting some of our great people in the field. Today we got shown around one of our cleaning contracts here in Sydney and learned about some of the challenges that these teams face.

5.30 PM

After wrapping up with the team on site, I head straight home!

6.00 PM

As soon as I get home, while I’ve still got a bit of momentum, I head straight out to the gym to get my daily exercise.

7.30 PM

I make it home just in time for dinner with my housemates, it’s always nice after a long day to kick back and relax with some friends.

9.00 PM

Usually by this point in the evening, I’m curled up on the couch watching one of my favourite TV shows with a cup of tea.

11.00 PM

Around now, it’s time to head to bed and get ready to do it all again tomorrow!
