What's your job about?
Visagio is a global consulting firm that offers business development transformation solutions to clients across more than 40 countries. We provide services to businesses, assisting them in all areas of their organisation. Throughout my time at Visagio, I have been assigned to diverse projects, ranging from data analytics to problem-solving engagements with clients regarding their business processes.
Currently, my project involves daily collaboration with the client to identify and resolve challenges, ensuring the delivery of effective solutions. In addition to project work, I have had the opportunity to participate in multiple initiatives within Visagio. For instance, I have been actively involved in our Think WIDE (Wellbeing, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity) team, contributing to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment. I have also been engaged in the recruitment process, gaining valuable insights and experiences. These additional initiatives have played a vital role in my personal growth, allowing me to broaden my skill set and develop a deeper understanding of various aspects of the organisation.
What's your background?
I grew up in China and relocated to Australia six years ago to pursue my university education. During my time at UWA, I developed a keen interest in data analytics, which led me to undertake the business analytics course, a relatively new program at that time. As I neared the end of my master's degree, I seized the opportunity to apply for a full-time position as a graduate consultant. Shortly after my graduation, I was fortunate to secure the role at Visagio and began working immediately. This allowed me to transition seamlessly from academia to a professional work environment, putting the knowledge and skills I acquired during my studies into practice.
Could someone with a different background do your job?
Yes. In fact, Visagio attracts individuals from diverse backgrounds and disciplines. The positive attitude, problem-solving skills and a genuine eagerness to learn and grow will be highly valued.
What's the coolest thing about your job?
One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is the incredible opportunity to collaborate with a diverse range of individuals. Not only do I have the privilege of working closely with different project teams and clients' teams, but I also have the chance to regularly engage with the broader Visagio team. What sets Visagio apart is the strong sense of collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the firm. Whenever I encounter a question, it is incredibly convenient to reach out to an expert within Visagio, and they are always willing to dedicate their time and expertise, allowing me to grasp the necessary knowledge and skills quickly.
What are the limitations of your job?
As a consultant, you have a level of ownership and responsibility over your projects, providing opportunities for professional growth. However, it is important to acknowledge that it could be stressful, particularly during critical periods, such as project deadlines and challenging situations.
