What's your job about?

Visagio is a platform that allows its people to create impact by tackling business problems for its clients. In my time here, I’ve been allocated to a variety of technology-based projects ranging from data analytics to software development. My current work at Visagio requires me to upskill in Microsoft’s power tools to develop an application that collates and reports key KPIs to key industry players. This opportunity gives me the flexibility to work part-time whilst balancing university study and other hobbies

What's your background?

I was born and raised in Perth, attending schooling here, and now I’m finishing up my master’s at UWA. At this time, I saw the potential for interesting technological developments in machine learning, so I decided to study data science throughout my time at university. Towards the end of my first year of master’s, I was welcomed with open arms to Visagio and currently working there part-time. In my six months at the company, I’ve developed many core skills as a consultant and have enjoyed many experiences (such as trying feijoada) from the diverse, multi-cultural workforce at Visagio.

Could someone with a different background do your job?

Yes! There definitely isn’t one field of study that we pinpoint our focus on. With the diverse nature of consulting, the projects we tackle may span different disciplines, so we are looking for good-hearted and hard-working people who are always willing to learn and are able to quickly adapt to new challenges.

What's the coolest thing about your job?

I love the fast-paced nature of the work I do at Visagio. The team I am current at prioritises completing high-impact short-term projects which aim to rapidly deliver solutions to our clients. In this team, I can rapidly learn a large variety of skills and collaborate with different people.

What are the limitations of your job?

Being a consultant at Visagio means you’ll be given real ownership and responsibility over your project. Although this comes with many pros, some notable cons include the high level of stress and pressure which can come when it gets to crunch time.
